Purwakarta, kabarsebelas.com – Selama ini, stunting menjadi salah satu masalah kesehatan yang menjadi perhatian serius semua pihak. Stunting adalah kondisi dimana tubuh manusia tak bisa tumbuh dan berkembang secara normal terutama untuk pertumbuhan anak-anak.
Selain menyerang kondisi pertumbuhan anak, dampak lain dari stunting akan menjadikan anak tersebut mudah terkena penyakit. Bahkan, yang paling parahnya, fungsi otaknya tidak bisa bekerja optimal.
Bupati Purwakarta, Anne Ratna Mustika. Terlebih, berdasarkan data dari Dinas Kesehatan Kabupaten Purwakarta mencatat, 8 % dari jumlah penduduk di wilayah tersebut mengalami masalah dengan tumbuh kembang tubuhnya (stunting).
“Kalau diangka kan jumlahnya sekitar 4.000 jiwa dari penduduk di Purwakarta. Dan Kebanyakan anak-anak,” ujar Anne saat ditemui di Bale Nagri, Jumat (11/10/2019), Purwakarta.
Menurut dia, sebenarnya kasus stunting ini mengalami penurunan dibanding tahun sebelumnya. Namun, hingga kini pihaknya belum menghitung persis penurunannya berapa. Karena, kata dia saat ini datanya masih divalidasi.
Bupati yang akrab disapa Ambu Anne menegaskan, pihaknya akan terus berupaya untuk menurunkan angka stunting ini. Salah satunya, dengan melakukan survei gizi, monitoring dan sosialisasi ke masyarakat. Tak hanya itu, pihaknya akan bersinergi dengan seluruh stakeholder pemangku kepentingan, untuk berkontribusi dalam mencegah dan menurunkan prevalensi stunting tersebut.
Anne menjelaskan, dalam pencegahan ini pihaknya mengerahkan petugas dari 108 posyadu untuk melakukan pengecekan. Salah satunya, dari hasil penimbangan anak dan balita. Adapun dari hasil validasi data, ada dua wialayah yang selama ini terdapat banyak yang mengidap stunting. Yakni, Kecamatan Sukatani dan Wanayasa.
Terkait upaya penanganannya sendiri, kata dia, yakni dengan cara survey gizi. Jika anak tersebut teridikasi kekurangan asupan gizi, pemerintah akan memberikan bantuan berupa pembagian daging, telur dan susu gratis sebagai asupan gizi.
“Nanti perkembangan si anak tersebut terus dimonitor. Selain itu, upaya pencegahan lainnya yakni melalui pemberian vitamin gratis bagi calon ibu, supaya kasus stunting bisa diminimalisasi. Sehingga, bayi yang nantinya terlahir dari rahim si ibu tersebut bisa tumbuh sehat,” Jelasnya
Stunting biasanya menyerang anak-anak. Secara kasat mata, pertumbuhan mereka akan terlihat tidak normal alias lebih pendek atau kerdil. Meski bukan dikatakan sebagai penyakit, stunting harus diantisipasi. (Dadi)
