Karawang, Kabarsebelas.com – Di tengah peringatan hari kemerdekaan yang ke – 75 Senin 17 Agustus 2020, Tempat Pembuangan Akhir Sampah ( TPAS) Jalupang, yang berlokasi di Cikampek, Karawang terbakar.
Kebakaran TPAS Jalupang terjadi pada sore hari sekitar pukul 16.00 Wib dan api baru bisa dipadamkan pagi harinya .
Kepala Dinas Lingkungan Hidup dan Kebersihan (DLHK) Kabupaten Karawang, Wawan Setiawan menjelaskan, sekitar pukul 16.00 Wib TPAS Jalupang terbakar, petugas yang berada di lokasi langsung bergerak untuk memadamkan api.
Berhubung api sulit dipadamkan, sekitar pukul 18.00 WIB dua unit pemadam kebakaran pun didatangkan dan api pun langsung dapat dipadamkan.
“Betul terbakar, Kejadian jam empat sore, api baru bisa dipadamkan pagi hari dan itupun kita datangkan dua unit pemadam karena api sudah dipadamkan,”jelas Wawan
Sementara kodisi saat ini kata Wawan, tinggal asapnya saja yang tebal, apinya sudah padam.
Adapun penyebab kebakaran yang terjadi di TPAS Jalupang menurut Wawan itu karena kondisi cuaca yang sangat panas, sehingga membuat gas metan terbakar.
“Cuaca panas, karena kemarau panjang , disisi lain kondisi gas metan meluap, kemudian terkena panas terik yang menyengat sehingga gampang memicu api dan menyebabkan kebakaran,” paparnya.
Kemungkinan lain kata Wawan, penyebab terjadinya kebakaran di TPAS Jalupang bisa jadi dari percikan kabel dari Pembuangan Pengelolaan Air (PAT) yang sedang dalam pembangunan.
“Diduga dari percikan api PAT yang memang sedang kita bangun, Karena ditahun 2020 ini kita sedang membangun program PAT,” kata Wawan menerangkan lebih lanjut.
“Ini kedua kalinya TPAS Jalupang terbakar, tapi bukan yang terbesar, Tahun lalu pun gara – gara gas metan akibat panas yang sangat, terjadi juga kebakaran dahsyat,” pungkasnya.(red)
