Karawang, KabarSebelas.com – Limbah B3 ditemukan terkubur di Perumahan Bumi Melati Asri (BMA), Dusun Wagir 2, Desa Bengle, Kecamatan Majalaya. Penemuan tersebut saat warga sedang melakukan pembuatan sodetan pembuang air.
Menurut Aditya Nugraha, Ketua RW Perum BMA, awalnya ditemuan limbah B3 tersebut, saat warga di Blok I sedang kerja bakti dengan pembuatan sodetan pembuang air. Ketika warga menggali tanah dengan kedalaman setengah meter terlihat gundukan berwarna hitam pekat.
“Awalnya kita tak menyangka, tanah berwarna hitam tersebut limbah B3, namun saat di ambil tanah tersebut terasa panas dan sesudahnya mengalami gatal-gatal. Tak hanya gundukan, bahkan kita menemukan karung yang didalamnya limbah B3 yang diarug tanah,” jelas Aditya kepada KabarSebelas.com, Senin (16/11/2020).
Menurut Aditya, berdasarkan informasi dari warga lainnya, fasilitas umum dan jalan utama di Perum BMA diduga di arug menggunakan limbah B3 yang berbentuk lumpur hitam dan krikil-krikil berwarna coklat. Kemudian ditutupi dengan tanah biasa. Begitupun di blok lainnya juga sama seperti itu.
“Perum Bumi Melati Asri dibangun sejak 2014. Limbah lumpur beracun tersebut sangat berbahaya bagi masyarakat. Bahkan warga juga mengkonsumsi air tanah yang diduga sudah tercemar limbah tersebut. Hal tersebut pasti ada dampaknya bukan sekarang tapi kedepan,” jelasnya.
Lanjut Aditya, dengan adanya temuan tersebut, pihaknya kemudian melaporkan ke kepolisian dan melakukan pencarian dibeberapa lokasi. Setelah dirinya melaporkan kepada pihak kepolisian, sejumlah anggota kepolisian dari Unit Tipiter Satuan Reserse Kriminal (Satreskrim) Polres Karawang langsung melakukan pengecheckan ke lokasi jalan utama yang ditemukan arugan limbah B3.
“Selanjutnya pihak kepolisian mengamankan contoh limbah B3 berbentuk lumpur hitam serta karung dan nantinya untuk di uji lab,” pungkas Adit.
Dari informasi yang dihimpun, pihak kepolisian akan memanggil pihak pengembang Perum BMA dan instansi terkait guna dilakukan penyelidikan lebih jauh.
